Music building, Amsterdam

The Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ - Amsterdam's latest concert hall - won the Dutch Architecture prize in 2007. Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard did the hot-dip galvanising on the 20-ton steel structure of the building. Staco supplied 4,380 m² of pressed gratings type RR 2-40, which were also galvanised by Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard. The gratings were used for the ceiling and the side walls in the main hall of the Muziekgebouw. The Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ is the podium for classic and contemporary music and it also houses the BIM-huis, which is the stage for jazz and improvised music.
